1. Start and encourage students to directly enter into contact with the sources of the patristic tradition; 2. Raise awareness about the great thinkers and the works that shaped their thinking and the Christian dogma, providing and studying the reading instruments; 3. Provide an overall view of Christian thought and its evolution, highlighting the theological issues and the ideas that structure theology; 4. Announce the living Tradition of the Church as an instance of theological critique; 5. Learning a methodology for reading, studying and researching the "patristic sources".
