Gemma Manau was born in Mataró (Barcelona, Spain) in 1968. In 1992 she got a Bachelor degree in Chemistry at Barcelona University and was granted an internship. She worked at JAURENA S.A. laboratory, a fine arts pigments factory. At this time, she began to be interested in humanistic topics, and cooperates with several cultural institutions. From 1994 to 1997, she lives in the Dominican Republic, collaborating in activities at Ámbito de Investigación y Difusión María Corral; and she teaches chemistry at National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña. In 1997 she gets back to Barcelona, studies Religious Sciences and coordinates the campaign "Let us develop peace in Catalonia", visiting all Catalan territory. In 2007 she moves to Portugal achieving an Integrated Master in Theology, and the second canonical degree, being right now working on the doctoral thesis. In 2010 makes postgraduate studies on Peace Culture, Social Cohesion and Intercultural Dialogue: Practical Applications. She continues to collaborate with Barcelona Letter of Peace Foundation activities, mainly teaching classes that the Foundation offers at Barcelona University. Specially, the virtual courses from 2008 to 2011, and currently, the Postgraduate on Peace Culture, Social Cohesion and Intercultural Dialogue: Practical Applications.
